Pls disseminate the Handout to your classmates. Anyway, I will give you a hardcopy first meeting this week. HW1 are #s 1, 2 and 3 in the Handout due Aug 17 (Wed).

Class Presidents, here are the instructions for Round 3 of our Tournament:

You are given 10 attack powers (Expelliarmus) and 5 defense powers (Protego). Expelliarmus (Pronunciation: /ɛksˌpɛliˈɑrməs/ eks-pel-ee-ar-məs) temporarily (1 round) knocks out players from the tournament; when knocked out, a player cannot win a Truel. Protego (Pronunciation: /proʊˈteɪɡoʊ/ proh-tay-goh) acts as a shield from attacks (e.g. expelliarmus) and neutralizes the effects of attacks when used.

Choose who will use Protego in your class and to whom you will use Expelliarmus in the other two sections. Note that:

RAVENCLAW can use Expelliarmus to attack SLYTHERIN boys and GRYFFINDOR girls ONLY.

SLYTHERIN can use Expelliarmus to attack GRYFFINDOR boys and RAVENCLAW girls ONLY.

GRYFFINDOR can use Expelliarmus to attack RAVENCLAW boys and SLYTHERIN girls ONLY.

Sometimes, the best thing to do is just to forget. Forget all your worries, all your problems and forget who you are for a while. Just relax and let yourself heal. Sometimes, when holes are too deep, when obstacles are too high, and when dangers are within, we just need to let go of ourselves, to let go of our problems. Sometimes, our weaknesses and our defects are our strengths. Our weaknesses are not always our problems. Sometimes, they're the only way to break free of all the tension. And you know what? Sometimes, our weaknesses are what makes us a better person.


How hard our tests may be, even how complicated they may seem to be, we can surpass them, if we believe. :)

UPDATE ON PERIODIC EXAMS (from ManCom): Exams are now on August 3 (Wed), 4 (Thurs) and 8 (Monday) following the original sequence. That is: Day 1 exams on Aug 3, Day 2 on Aug 4, Day 3 on Aug 8.

Activities for August 5 (Outreach launch, 3rd year field trip, 4th year UPCAT break) will remain as is. Thank you very much and please pass to those who are not online.
